Nathan J. Winograd launched a 16-city nationwide tour Sept. 1 with
his book, Redemption: The Myth of Pet Overpopulation and the No
Kill Revolution in America.
The former director of operations for the San
Franciso SPCA and former executive director of the Tompkins County
SPCA in Ithaca, NY talks about 90-percent save rates that can be
achieved in both urban and rural settings, nationwide.
'There is no excuse for killing healthy
animals,' Winograd says repeatedly in his online blog at
nathanwinograd.blogspot.com.
'Not only are death rates plummeting and
adoptions skyrocketing in these communities, but these results have
been achieved in a very short period of time-virtually
overnight-proving that saving lives is less a function of any
perceived pet overpopulation, but rather of a shelter's
leadership and practices.'
'The book that exposes the annual killing of
4.1 million cats and dogs as unnecessary and offers a lifesaving
blueprint' was released by Almaden Books, Los Angeles.
Winograd will be at Book Soup on the infamous
Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood, CA at 7 p.m. Sept. 28. There
will be an introduction by the author, reading, Q&A, and book

Minnesota, Oct. 2 for a 6 p.m. book signing and 7 p.m. multi-media
discussion of the No-Kill Solution. The event is sponsored by and
will benefit the Minneapolis Animal Ark No-Kill Shelter.
