I just found a yoga mat that is planet-friendly and pet-friendly!

For just over $40, the new start-up web company, JustMyMat sells a 24-inch by 65.7-inch 'TPE Yoga Pet Serene Green' mat that is non-toxic, biodegradable, recyclable, and easy to clean.

At no additional charge, the yoga pet mat is prepared with a paw print embroidered next to the pet's name. The company also donates 1% of the sale to help environmental organizations worldwide (via the 1% For The Plant organization.)

'There are many companies selling PVC mats that ruin our environment,' said Gwen Bandes, owner and founder of the New Jersey-based web company. 'I wanted to offer a yoga mat that was both unique, and friendly to the environment. So, every mat sold by JustMyMat is produced from TPE, Thermo Plastic Estomer, which is non-toxic, biodegradable, recyclable and easy to clean.

The mat's natural characteristics allow it to be cleaned easily and prevent bacteria, said Bandes. The material also provides excellent traction and a superior grip.

My yoga instructor owns this mat and it's great. It's big enough for an individual and-or pet and it appears to be more durable than other mats.
